We had a job this week at Caulfield, where one of our client’s Chromebook didn’t have a display coming up at all! So thought it was right about time we wrote about our experience in fixing this issue. #4 below fixed the issue for our client, shouldn’t be your case, so best try them all!

This issue could stem from factors such as overheating or charger malfunctions, among other things.

What Causes a Chromebook Black Screen?

The causes of a Chromebook’s black screen can include issues with the power supply or charger, incorrect screen brightness settings, overheating, and damaged hardware.

Issues with power supply or charger




Your Chromebook may have a black screen because of power supply or charger issues.

First, make sure your charger is plugged in correctly.

Sometimes, pieces come apart and need to be fixed again. Don’t forget to test with a different charger too. This step lets you know if your original charger is making the screen go black.

Incorrect screen brightness settings

uning up the display brightness can help fix this issue.

Adjusting the visibility settings on your Chromebook is easy.

Use the brightness control key on your keyboard to boost the light levels.

How To Troubleshoot Black Screen On A Chromebook?
