Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 : Review

In this review, we’ll be taking a close look at the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 gaming laptop. This laptop is equipped with some of the latest and greatest hardware, including an AMD Ryzen 7 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. So, how does it perform? Let’s find out.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 Design and Build Quality

The first thing you’ll notice about the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 is its impressive design. The sides and lid of the laptop are made from brushed aluminum, and the back of the screen is covered in a black plastic with red accents. The overall look is very sleek and modern, and it’s clear that a lot of attention has been paid to the details.

In terms of build quality, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 is rock solid. There is no flex whatsoever in the chassis, and all of the ports and hinges feel very sturdy. In short, this is a well-built gaming laptop that should be able to withstand plenty of wear and tear.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 Display Quality

The display on the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 is nothing short of excellent. It’s a 15.6-inch IPS panel with a native resolution of 1920×1080. The colors are accurate and vibrant, and the viewing angles are nice and wide. The refresh rate is a whopping 144Hz, which means that gaming will be buttery smooth. Finally, the response time is only 3ms, so there will be no ghosting or blurring when things get hectic on screen. Simply put, this is one of the best gaming laptop displays we’ve ever seen.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 Performance

In terms of performance, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 does not disappoint. Thanks to its AMD Ryzen 7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card, it’s more than capable of handling any task you throw at it—be it gaming, video editing, or 3D rendering. In our benchmarks, we saw similar results to what we’ve seen from other laptops with similar hardware. That being said, if you’re looking for raw horsepower, you’ll be better off with a desktop PC.

When it comes to gaming laptops, there are few that can match the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 in terms of design, build quality, or performance. It’s one of the best gaming laptops on the market right now and deserves our highest recommendation.

Razer Blade 17

The Razer Blade 17 is a high-end gaming laptop that was released in 2019. It’s packed with top-of-the-line hardware, including an Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics card, and 16GB of RAM. In other words, it’s a beast of a machine that’s capable of handling the most demanding games on the market. But how does it hold up in real-world use? I took the Razer Blade 17 for a spin to find out.

Design and Build Quality

The first thing you’ll notice about the Razer Blade 17 is its sleek and stylish design. The aluminum chassis looks and feels premium, and the green backlit keyboard is a nice touch. The only downside is that the laptop is on the heavy side, weighing in at over 7 pounds. But that’s to be expected with a gaming laptop of this caliber.

Display and Audio

The Razer Blade 17 has a gorgeous 17.3-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1080. The colors are vibrant and accurate, and the viewing angles are excellent. As for audio, the built-in speakers are loud and clear. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack if you prefer to use headphones or external speakers.

Performance

As I mentioned earlier, the Razer Blade 17 is packed with top-of-the-line hardware. I tested the laptop with a few of the most demanding games on the market, and it handled them like a champ. There was no lag or stuttering whatsoever, even when cranking up the settings to ultra. The fans do get noisy when gaming, but that’s to be expected with any gaming laptop. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the performance of the Razer Blade 17.

Battery Life

One area where gaming laptops typically struggle is battery life. After all, all that powerful hardware takes quite a bit of juice to run properly. So how does the Razer Blade 17 fare in this department? Surprisingly well, actually. I was able to get around 6 hours of use on a single charge while browsing the web and doing some light productivity work. Of course, your mileage may vary depending on how you use the laptop. But even so, 6 hours is pretty good for a gaming laptop.

The Razer Blade 17 is an excellent gaming laptop that offers impressive performance, great build quality, and decent battery life. It’s not perfect—it’s pricey and on the heavy side—but it’s one of the best gaming laptops on the market right now if you’re looking for something that can handle anything you throw at it.”

Legion 5 Pro

The Legion 5 Pro is a capable gaming laptop, but it falls a bit short.

Lenovo’s Legion 5 Pro is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop that’s stacked with some serious hardware. It’s got an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a GTX 1660 Ti GPU, and a 512GB SSD. That’s a lot of power to pack into such a small package. But does it deliver? Read on to find out.

Design and Display

The first thing you’ll notice about the Legion 5 Pro is its sleek, black design. The lid is adorned with a simple red logo, and the bezels around the screen are quite thin. The display itself is crisp and clear, and the viewing angles are excellent. I did find that the screen was a bit too glossy for my liking, but that’s a minor nitpick. Overall, the design and display are both top-notch.

Performance

As I mentioned earlier, the Legion 5 Pro is stacked with some serious hardware. So it should come as no surprise that it performs exceptionally well. Whether I was playing games or working on demanding creative projects, the Legion 5 Pro had no trouble keeping up. I did notice that the fan noise was a bit loud when gaming, but it wasn’t enough to be disruptive.

Battery Life

One area where the Legion 5 Pro falls a bit short is in battery life. Lenovo claims that you can get up to 7 hours of battery life on a single charge. But in my experience, you’re lucky if you can get 4 hours out of it. This isn’t really surprising given all of the power that’s packed into this machine, but it’s still something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a laptop that you can use unplugged for extended periods of time.

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is a powerful gaming laptop with some great features. But its short battery life and glossy display are potential dealbreakers for some people. If you’re looking for a capable gaming laptop with exceptional performance, the Legion 5 Pro is worth considering. But if you need something with better battery life, you might want to look elsewhere.
