The Ryzen 5 3600 is powered by 6 cores and 12 threads, making it one of the most powerful processors on the market today. It has a base clock speed of 3.6GHz and can be boosted up to 4.2GHz with precision boost 2 technology. This processor also features AMD SenseMI technology which helps keep your system cool while boosting performance when needed. Real-world tests

Test Setup 

We tested both CPUs using an MSI B550 Tomahawk motherboard with 16GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3200MHz and an RTX 2080 Super GPU. We ran a variety of tests designed to measure their performance in various scenarios, including gaming, photo/video editing, streaming, and more. 

Gaming Performance 

We tested both CPUs with a variety of games at 1080p resolution and found that they both perform very well. In titles like Overwatch, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, and more we saw no noticeable difference in performance between the two CPUs. However, in games like Call of Duty Warzone and Fortnite we did see a slight edge for the Ryzen 5 5600x when compared to the Ryzen 5 3600. 

The Ryzen 5 5600x also proved itself to be superior when it came to streaming games such as Minecraft or League of Legends due to its higher clock speeds. It was able to process tasks faster than the Ryzen 5 3600 thanks to its higher single-core performance.  

Photo/Video Editing Performance 

When it comes to video editing performance we found that both processors performed similarly with only small differences between them in terms of speed and efficiency. We ran tests using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2020 as well as Sony Vegas Pro 17 and found that while there were minor differences in render times between the two CPUs, they were negligible overall.  

The results showed that while both processors performed well, the 5600X was slightly faster in terms of frames per second (FPS) when playing games or rendering videos in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2020. 

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a processor that offers excellent performance without breaking the bank, then either one of these processors will do nicely – though if you can afford it, then go with the Ryzen 5 5600X for better performance and lower power consumption. All things considered, both these processors offer great value for money – so whichever one you decide to go with will likely be an excellent choice!
